Your regular walker can be your dog’s side-kick and a familiar face while you’re  away. This service is offered in our home or yours, and is based on availability. (noon to noon).

We are dog people and understand what it feels like to leave your best friend behind. Your dog doesn’t like it anymore than you, so we are here to help fill that void. Since you can’t bring them along, give them the next best thing, a dedicated companion to spend time with, go out on lots of walks and adventures, and be their second best friend while you are away.  We’ll make sure your pup is showered with love and attention while you’re away and you’ll receive daily Pup Reports and pictures letting you know how it’s going. You can rest easy knowing the walker your dog already knows and loves will be there to chase the blues away and have a fun staycation of their own.

All you need to know

WHAT DO I NEED TO START TRAINING?
Patience and consistency are two of the most powerful training tools, while rewards (tasty treats, toys, attention from you, etc) are also quite important.  Some gear, such as leashes and tags, is required by law, and we recommend you have a 6 foot lead and harness available.  All dogs must be licensed and vaccinated according to local law. For those interested in behavior modification, all pups must have had a recent exam by a veterinarian to rule out physical factors that might be causing or contributing to the problem behavior.  In cases of severe aggression, additional health testing may be recommended.
DOES MY DOG NEED TRAINING?
While every dog and pup parent can benefit from daily, routine learning, sometimes we all get stumped by our pup's actions. When these actions start to interfere with your routine, it is definitely time to consult a professional, certified trainer. When adding a first or second (or more!) dog into your life, it is a good time to consult a trainer to help make the transition to dog (or multi-dog) life as seamless as possible. If your dog's actions scare you, you or another person feels unsafe, or your pup is acting aggressively, immediately consult a force free trainer.
TWO HOUR WINDOW

Wiggle Room

Due to the complexity of our clients varying schedules and the unique challenges of maneuvering through NYC in all climates, we reserve a two-hour window around the time of your scheduled walk. EX: If you are scheduled for 3pm, you can expect your walker will arrive sometime between 2pm and 4pm. This window helps us manage constantly varying schedules, bad weather, toweling dogs off after rainy or snowy days, varying travel times between clients, and of course elevators that sometimes take forever to come for what ever reason. If you have a puppy, we adhere to 1 hour window till they are older and more developed - This will be assessed during the initial consultation and as your puppy progresses we can reevaluate as needed.

Auto-Payments are where it's at!

We accept all major credit cards- Once you set up an account you are automatically invoiced and charged for services rendered at the end of each week. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. Your account may be placed on hold and services suspended if your account becomes past due. All sitting and dog training services are charged in advance

ESTABLISHING A REGULAR SCHEDULE

HELP US PLAN

Establishing a regular schedule for your dog is highly recommended. This helps us allocate our walkers and ensures that you receive your desired walking window. Regular schedules also help us carefully plan ensuring each of our clients get the most out of every visit from our walkers. Because of the nature of our service and our focus on individual care, we ask that you help us plan ahead. We are not able to take on occasional, or once off clients and ask that you set up weekly schedule with a minimum of 3 visits per week. If your schedule requires less than 3 visits per week - we may not be able to promise a specific time.
24 HOUR POLICY
We require a minimum of 24 hours advance notice to guarantee accommodation. Please be mindful of this in the event that you need to make changes to your schedule. For weekend walks, all reservation and changes must be made by Friday afternoon. Last minute weekend cancels will be charged for the full price of the visit. If a request for services, or changes in the schedule come in after close on any particular day, We will respond first thing the next business day and will do our very best to accommodate.  Please be mindful that if your schedule changes day-to-day, we may not always be able to accommodate your requests.
RESERVATIONS AND CONFIRMATIONS

Send your requests via email everytime.

Texting is unreliable, please make all schedule changes and requests directly with our office. Please do not leave notes for the walkers about changes to the schedule or tell your walker in passing. There is always a chance that the change may not get updated to the system and we risk missing a walk, or billing for a walk that was not needed. Please send all requests through our email: [email protected] and your request will be confirmed via email once it was successfully updated into our system. if you do not receive a confirmation there is a chance that it did not make it to us, so please call us or follow up to ensure that your request has been processed.
NO SHOWS – AND LATE CANCELS

In the event that we show up for a scheduled walk and your pooch is not home or unable to come out and play, you will be charged for the full rate of the visit. If you cancel the day of your scheduled visit you will be charged for the full rate of the visit.

WHY THE DIFFERENT METHODS?
A huge number of scientific breakthroughs in the last 50 or so years have revolutionized the way we look at canine learning, health, and emotion.  Now we know dogs feel pain, as well as emotions we never would have guessed possible.  We've learned that wolves do not live in a dominance-based system, and in turn neither do dogs. We've discovered dogs learn better when they are set up to succeed, and that coercive training can do more harm than good. Thirty, twenty, even ten years ago we didn't know what we know now. As the world of training is unregulated, there is no single body requiring  trainers to update and change alongside our scientific discoveries. The numerous, often contradictory methods are the result, leaving you as the consumer to figure out what is and what is not legitimate dog training. Particularly in the world of dog training, its not necessarily how long a person has been training, but rather how up to date and willing to learn that person is.
