Dog Walkers NYC — Our Dogma
Puptopia focuses on nutrition, fitness, and behavior, which all correlate closely in your dog’s life. A nutritious diet and proper exercise will ensure that your dog maintains a healthy weight and help prevent heart disease and arthritis. Dogs also suffer from stress and depression just as humans, but at Puptopia we place a premium on fitness and affection, which help to alleviate these symptoms. Proper fitness increases blood flow and raises endorphin levels in the brain. By stimulating the mind and body your dog will be happy, more responsive, and better behaved. Ultimately, our dog walkers are here to establish a stress-free schedule for you and your pet, so when you get home from work your pet-parent relationship can be more focused on quality time — Puptopia is delighted to be a part of that process! Dog Walkers aka “Pup-Pals!”When choosing our pet care professionals, or “Pup-Pals,” as we like to call them, we seek out special individuals. We firmly believe that certain individuals innately possess traits that allow them to bond closer with animals. Some refer to individuals such as these as “animal whisperers.” When adding a Pup-Pal to our team we carefully select individuals who have these inherent qualities. Some of these qualities include one who has: a gentle soul, positive energy, an instinctive read on animal behavior, and a spiritual connection with animals. All of our Pup-Pals have experience handling dogs, and each one is bonded and insured. We are excellent listeners and observers, and we are always available to answer your questions. Basic training is reinforced with all Puptopia NYC dog walking services, and if you request, we’ll reinforce specific techniques that you have already worked on with your dog while on walks. We will happily provide you with references, so you can hear firsthand how loving, devoted, and responsible our Manhattan dog walkers are. At Puptopia your animal will always have our undivided attention and love. About The Owner, Tanner McAuley aka “The Alpha Wolf”Tanner McAuley created Puptopia because he believes every dog has a unique personality that should be catered to for optimal growth and development. His philosophy centers on three essentials: Exercise, affection and nutritious diet. Beyond this, Tanner believes in carefully observing dogs in nature to discover their individual traits and personal preferences. He honors dogs’ natural instincts, and how they often sense things in their environments that humans do not. Tanner inherited much of his love for animals from his mother, who grew up on a horse farm in Colts Neck, New Jersey. Many different dog breeds were considered part of the family during his formative years, and at a young age Tanner discovered that dogs just naturally gravitated toward him. He has spent a lot of time observing dogs, and finds that they often have whimsical personalities and expressions (see the “Doggie Wisdom” page for some of Tanner’s favorite and funny dog quotes). A great deal of Native American blood flows through Tanner’s veins, and he believes this may have something to do with his deep respect for animals and his desire to be in tune with earth’s natural rhythms. He believes it is of the utmost importance to protect the environment and nurture all animals. Tanner is pet first aid certified by the American Red Cross. He enjoys athletics, music, film, nature, art, and traveling. He often talks to dogs in funny character voices and makes up nicknames for them that are, of course, based on their unique personality traits. Puptopia All Stars Picture Gallery |
